2009 GMC Car Raffle Winner!

On Saturday, May 30th the draw was made for the 2009 Pontiac G3 Podium Edition donated by Pontiac GMC Canada to Alpine Saskatchewan as part of the sponsorship provided through Alpine Canada. The draw was made at Capital Pontiac in Regina by 'Trapper' - a radio personality providing a radio spot for the day at the dealership.

The winner was Lisa Daradich of Cupar, Saskatchewan with a ticket sold to them through the Qu'Appelle Valley Ski Club (QVSC). Although Lisa was sceptical and thought the voice and email messages notifying her of her win were a hoax, she did some background checking and became very excited to hear the news was legitimate (she hadn't won a prize like this before). Lisa also said that it was great timing because their current vehicle was in need of replacing. The keys were handed over by Terry Hooper - President of Alpine Saskatchewan - to Lisa on Monday, June 1st.

In total there were approximately 4,800 tickets sold from November through May 30th. Once the accounting is settled, the 50% net revenue clubs' share will be forwarded.

For more information about the car raffle, visit the sponsor page through the 'read more' link below.

Thanks to all for you support of this car raffle this last season - this will benefit each club and the Alpine Saskatchewan organization as a whole through your efforts!

Introducing the New Alpine Saskatchewan LogoIntroducing the New Alpine Saskatchewan Logo

The Sask Alpine executive and board have decided it was time to revamp and settle on a new logo for Alpine Saskatchewan. Up to this point there was more than one logo in use for the organization and neither was viewed as a logo that the was deemed current or appropriate for the long term (the old logo images are shown on the left with the red X crossing through it).

The new logo is based on the Alpine Canada logo (both logos are shown on left for reference) with the similar central graphic of the Canadian flag maple leaf stylized to embed the pair of alpine skis, as well as the Alpine Ski designation below the leaf. The Sask Alpine logo is then customized with the Saskatchewan province name highlighted at the top of the logo to designate our organization's province name and the colour scheme changed from a red maple leaf with a white background to a green maple leaf with a yellow background. The custom colours are taken from Saskatchewan's provincial flag colours - which for interest's sake are correspondingly based on the green forests of Saskatchewan's North along with the yellow grass plains of the South.

Use of the logo is governed by the Alpine Saskatchewan organization. If any clubs, sponsors or other individuals or organizations would like to use the logo, they should direct their request to the Alpine Saskatchewan general office contact.
