 Alpine Saskatchewan Sponsors Minimize

Alpine Saskatchewan (also known as Sask Alpine) is a respected and well-run organization that has been in place for decades. As a non-profit organization, the funding for our activities is dependent on a combination of members fees, government grants, and sponsorship funding. It should be noted that sponsor funding takes place at two levels for our organization; at the national Alpine Canada level and at a provincial level.

This page is dedicated to highlighting each of our sponsor funding partners and what their contributions provide for our organization. We are pleased and proud to be associated with each - as they are all helping to develop a family sport, an active community, and a pride in accomplishments for all of our members. This page is just one of the ways for our organization to say 'thanks' to each for their support.

For more information about sponsorship opportunities and to review our standard sponsorship packages, please visit our Sponsorship Package Information page on this web site.

 Saskatchewan Telecommunications (SaskTel) Minimize

  Visit SaskTel at www.sasktel.com

SaskTel has committed to a three year sponsorship agreement as the SaskCup Race Series Title Sponsor starting in the 2008/2009 season. Sask Alpine is very pleased to have SaskTel partner in this role because it will assist us in promoting the sport presence and raising the image of our race series. The sponsorship will also contribute to athlete development throughout the province as well as the development of new skiers in the youngest age groups.

SaskTel's branding will be visible at the four to five races held through the season in the form of logos shown on racing gate panels, on racing bibs, banners at races, and their branding on the medals and ribbons handed out for race awards.

 Pontiac GMC Minimize

Visit the Pontiac GMC web site at www.pontiac.com

GMC is a major Alpine Canada sponsor. As part of that sponsorship, Sask Alpine has received a vehicle to be used in a raffle to raise funds for our organization for the 2010/2011 season. This is a huge benefit to Sask Alpine and provides much-needed funds to assist in our operations as well as providing funds directly to our member clubs. We are very pleased to support this organization and this generous contribution.

The vehicle will be a 2011 GMC Terrain valued at $28,000. If you would like to have a ticket in this raffle, please contact any of our organization's members through the various clubs listed on our Club Contacts page on this web site.

 Rawlco Communications Minimize

Rawlco Communications partnered with Alpine Saskatchewan during the 2009/2010 season to provide radio spots and bus billboard signage promoting alpine skiing within the province and our 'learn to ski' events in particular. They did so at a drastically reduced rate as a sponsorship-in-kind arrangement.

This type advertising is directly tied to our organization's awareness initiatives and we're grateful to Rawlco Communications for their support and cooperation to put this in place.

 Ronald Communications Minimize

Ronald Communications has been a key sponsor of Sask Alpine for many years. They provide in-kind sponsorship through the use of twelve two-way radios that are used at all of the races and events held by Sask Alpine through the ski season.

These radios are crucial to conducing efficient and safe events for our athletes, coaches, and volunteers. The sport is technical and demanding for the athletes and requires the involvement of dozens of volunteers to conduct a race event - which needs effective coordination through reliable communications during the event. In addition, when there are safety incidents that need to dealt with, these radios are key to ensuring that any incident is dealt with quickly and correctly by the event officials and medical staff.

The dozen radios provided are very much appreciated and, through the in-kind sponsorship, represent a significant expense saving for the provincial organization.

 Husky Energy Minimize

Visit Husky Energy's web site at www.huskyenergy.ca

Husky Snow Stars

Husky Energy is a major Alpine Canada sponsor. Their key contribution is to the provisioning of the materials and support of the events for the youngest ski members in our programs - the 5 to 11 year olds that are learning how to ski, and those that are improving on their ski skills.

Husky is the national sponsor for the Snow Stars program which includes providing the handbooks, manuals, certificates, and other materials used for this grassroots program. In particular, Husky's contributions allowed our Snowstars program and Nancy Greene race events to be conducted with more visibility and fun for all involved. This includes the supply of toques and stuffed husky dogs that were distributed at the race events – they were appreciated by all participants!

Husky Loyalty Card Program

Husky also provides funding for the provincial organizations and clubs by distributing the Husky/Alpine Canada Alpin Community Rebate card. This card can be used when fuel or other purchases is made at Husky and Mohawk locations.

Husky Energy as part of their community rebate program has developed with ACA this exclusive ski racing swipe card, which directly benefits local clubs. Husky supports your local club by rebating 2% of the retail purchase at Husky and Mohawk gas stations, convenience stores, and restaurants. Funds can be used in any way your club or province sees fit. By having Husky Energy come on board and support ski racing through a number of initiatives including the community rebate program is a major boost to improving our sport at the grassroots level.

With the help of Husky Energy we can really make these benefits work in our favour. The more we use our cards the more we get back. For example if a ski club uses 30 cards and fills up twice a month, this clubs use of the Husky loyalty card would generate over $800 over the course of one year…directly back to this club. If only 50 of our clubs participated at this level, over $40,000 could be generated to support the grassroots level of ski racing in Canada.

Here are a few ideas on how they can be used at the Provincial and Club level; Ski team vans, Club vehicles, Ski team trips, Club member vehicles, Landscaping business, Summer camps, Home based business.

These cards can be distributed through the clubs in each province. Cards can be given to club members, athletes, coaches, friends, relatives, anyone who would like to support their local Ski Club. Help support all of our athletes by encouraging your clubs and members to fill up at their local Husky/Mohawk retailers during their travels this spring and summer.
