This message is being sent to all Sask Alpine club coach prime contacts. Distribute within your club at your discretion.
This is a follow-up reminder to all clubs about the upcoming Sask Alpine club coaches' technical planning meeting. The meeting is open to all clubs and is being held to review the past season and plan the technical programs for next season. It's an opportunity to receive information, provide input, and contribute to decisions. Plus you can take this information back to your clubs for your internal planning for next season. Note that this a separate meeting from the May 16th Alpine Saskatchewan Annual General Meeting.
Each club is advised to send technical representatives to participate in this meeting.
Format: Video conference between Regina and Saskatoon at the following locations.
- Regina Sask Sport main conference room, 1870 Lorne Street.
- Saskatoon Sask Sport main conference room, 610 Cynthia Street.
Registration: Notify Alana Ottenbreit at office@saskalpine.com by end of Thursday, April 15th. Lunch will be provided based on registration numbers received by the deadline.
Date/Time: To maximize our attendance potential, reply as soon as possible to office@saskalpine.com with your intent to attend - and indicate whether you have a preference for Saturday, April 17 at 8:30 a.m., or Sunday, April 18 at 9:00 a.m., or whether either day would work. Decision on the date will be announced by noon on Tuesday April 13th based on the responses received to that point. The meeting is expected to last 4 hours.
Agenda:
- Review of past season's events.
- Next season all-club camp.
- Learn-to-ski event.
- Nancy Greene race/Festival events.
- Nancy Greene provincial club champion calculation review.
- Out of province Nancy Greene events.
- Canada Winter Games.
- Sask Cup race calendar and race discipline formats.
- Sask Cup club and individual calculation review.
- Sask Cup race medal/ribbon presentation review.
- Provincial programs, coaches, relationship with clubs.
- Coaches' courses (CSIA, CSCF Entry Level, Officials Level 2).
- Instructor/coach preseason clinics.
- Para-alpine initiative.
- Sask Alpine Technical Director position.
- Sask Alpine coach liaison.
- Sask Alpine youth liaison.
As you can see, we have a full slate. If there are other items that you want covered, email them to terry.hooper@think.sk.ca to have them added to the agenda. If there are issues, contact me via email or cell at 306-529-6846. I will arrange for the entry card into the Regina building - similar arrangements will be needed in Saskatoon.

Based on responses, this meeting is now rescheduled for Sunday, April 18 at 9 a.m. We have the rooms booked for the whole day, but expect to be done before 3 p.m.
Note: Ensure you have registered with Alana at office@saskalpine.com (do NOT just reply to this message) by Thursday, April 15th. Include information on which location (Regina or Saskatoon) you are planning to attend. |
