To all club prime contacts and coaches.

Although the Alpine Saskatchewan calendar is still under development, I wanted to point out some key events that are being planned so that your upcoming season registrations and travel logistics can take them into account. Please note that the following are highlights from the calendar provided at the Sask Alpine web site located at the following web site address, and you are encouraged to monitor this page as the season progresses for changes.
http://www.saskalpine.com/Calendar/tabid/103/Default.aspx

1. Sask Ski AGM and Sask Alpine Fall Meeting - October 17, 2009. Sask Ski meeting attendance is a requirement for MAP grant funding from Sask Sport. The Sask Alpine Fall Meeting will be held following the Sask Ski AGM, and is a key meeting to review the upcoming season's plans and initiatives.

2. Alpine Saskatchewan All Club Mountain Camp - December 1 - 6, 2009. Similar to last year, but the format is yet to be finalized. Will be based out of Canmore and likely be going to Sunshine.

3. Nancy Greene Race and Snow Stars Festival Events on January 30-31 and March 20-21, 2010. Both of these events are in locations where overnight accommodations are light - so you'll want to plan your travel logistics for your clubs early with that in mind.

4. Saskatchewan Winter Games: Qualifier - January 16-17; Games February 14 - 17, 2010. If you're planning on competing for a spot in the Games in February 2010, the race at Table Mountain is used for determining the district team and filling of quota spots, and the games themselves are in February. Information on the alpine ski sport in the games is on the Sask Alpine web site under the 'Programs' menu.

5. Four Sask Cup races including the potential for a Giant Slalom End of Season Race - April 7 - 10, 2010. Set these dates aside if you're planning on attending the races. The tentative season end race in the first full week of April will be similar to the Christmas Break Sask Cup GS race held for the past 14 seasons, but will be during the Easter school break week instead. Plans are still being made, but we're targeting this race to take place at an Alberta or B.C. mountain ski resort venue.
