Hi Folks: It is important that Club Coaches and Programming persons attend this meeting. Your attendance and input is very important to Sask Alpine's 2009 / 2010 program planning process. Please make sue that your Club Coach or someone attends this meeting. Agenda: 1) Annual planning chart > to be done after meeting. 2) Program camp descriptions > Gavin and Alex to prepare for meeting. 3) Program planning schedule.> Gavin and Alex to prepare for meeting. 4) K1 & K2 programs as they ran this year, with your recommended changes for next year. 5) FIS - present as per the original plan, with your recommended changes. 6) Sask Alpine athlete funding policy. a. Try and sell the programs out > it appears we have. Do we allow buy in's > only if a program is not sold out? If buy in spots are available - no funding for the buy in athletes. The exception to the rule si K1, where we have allowed a funded buy in / if the program is not sold out. 7) Recommended Sask Alpine race dates and locations. Sask Winter Games to contend with. Use a Sask Cup Race as qualifier Sask Cup Mtn Race: Do we run one early as in the past or have a season ending race. Can we get Alberta Alpine to sanction a Sask Alpine mountain race, include it in their calendar to ensure a large registration. Canada District West / Qualifiers A time trial event > either at Asessippi or a mountain locations for K1 & K2 athletes who are interested. K1 Westerns / A February Race Athletes who do not wish to attend Whistler Cup or Nationals - develop a qualifier process out of Sask Races Use as Sask Race as qualifiers 9) Athletes / Coaching - Strategy Alex & Gavin > proposal > would like to live in Canmore Benefits: No Coach burn out, 2 Coaches on hill for all camps, happy Coaches, not paying food perdiums Negatives: Chaperones must drive the team van back and forth FIS / Gavin Sarah B, Katie B, Lauren C, Martin S, Duncan T, Taylor W, Tyson T, Sarah J Would race 1 or 2 races only. K2 / Alex (if doesn't go to school - if she does we are Coach shopping) Erin C, Taylor H, Yzanne W, Carman M, Lauren T, Evan R, Mason C, Ty L Alex would drive back for Sask Cup races. K1 / Contract Coaching by Camp / a Sask Coach if possible. Is there a cost benefit - Pat to do analysis 11) Nancy League Ski League Tom Yano / marketing - TBA Race Events End of season event - Alberta Graduation Festival Coach training CSIA / Level 1 CSCF / EL 12) Fitness FIS and K2 athletes will be required to participate in a 12 month fitness training program to be monitored by Sask Alpine and Sask Sports Science. Sask Sport Science fitness test day - May 3, Sunday, Saskatoon > detail TBA. K1, K2 & FIS athletes are required to attend. 13) Summer Camps Mount Hood FIS / July 1st - 15th Mount Hood K2 & K1 / July 16 - 30 Farnham - the program is no longer funded and too expensive Colorado Staying at a house in Frisco Ski at Loveland & Copper FIS Camp K2 Camp 14) Team Suits We were unable to meet the Descent deadline > to get deposits from athletes and confirm sizing to place a 30 suits order. We are looking at our other options. The above points are recommendations and discussion points only. We need your experience, knowledge, and input to put together the best every Sask Alpine programming year. After this meeting, the finalized version of the program plan will be presented to Pat Weir, Sask Alpine Treasurer for pricing.
