To all Sask Alpine club prime coach contacts. Please read through the complete message below for important points to be aware of. Objective: Review past season and current state of Sask Alpine's programs and finances. Elect people into executive positions for next season. Date/time: Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Location: Sports Hall of Fame Building, 610 Cynthia Street, Saskatoon. Each club within Sask Alpine is expected to provide a representative to attend for information purposes, provide input, and to carry out the required voting - defined by the Alpine Saskatchewan bylaws and constitution - of the nominations to the executive and director positions. Registration: Alana Ottenbreit at office@saskalpine.com by May 12. Lunch will be provided based on the registrations received by the deadline. Agenda will be: 1. Approval of agenda. 2. Review last year's AGM minutes. The minutes from last year's AGM on May 24th can be retrieved from the Sask Alpine web site at: http://www.saskalpine.com/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=P164qhsrCDk%3d 3. Update report from each of the Sask Alpine executive and director areas: - President: State of Organization from Past Season. - Program Director: Review of past season's programs (Nancy Greene, K1, K2, J1/J2/FIS), plans for upcoming season. - Finance: Current finance state. - Competition Director: Review of past season (Sask Cup races, points, awards), plans for upcoming season. - Communications: Review of past season, plans for upcoming season. - Officials: Review of past season, plans for upcoming season. 4. Nominations for the Sask Alpine executive positions. Please forward names of people interested in having their names stand for nomination for any of the Sask Alpine executive and director positions. Note that there are several vacant Sask Alpine executive and director positions; Finance, Communications, Program Director. We are specifically requesting nominations to fill these roles. On a personal note: For many months now requests have been issued to have volunteers step into the vacant executive roles of treasurer, communications and program director, but no one has come forward. In the meantime, I've had the added burden of finding ways to cover these vacant roles. The total time I have been allocating to cover everything to has become unsustainable for a variety of reasons. What it comes down to is this - unless there are people that step up to cover these three positions in Sask Alpine (i.e. director of finance, communications, and program director), I will step down as President. In any case, I hae fulfilled the expected two year term in this position, and someone needs to take over the President's position after next year - so this would be an ideal time for anyone considering doing this to prepare themselves by getting involved on the executive this year in preparation for that role. 5.
