All Nancy Greene club prime contacts:

The second annual province-wide Learn To Ski Day promotion has been scheduled for the weekend of December 12/13. This weekend was selected and confirmed in several Sask Alpine club meetings held during the off-season.

As in the past, the day will be promoted in the media for those clubs and ski areas that are participating. Event registration will be provisioned through the www.learntoski.ca web site. The objective is to target families with younger youth (i.e. 5 - 10 years) that have little or no ski experience.

Reply to office@saskalpine.com by Wednesday November 18 (sooner if possible) either with a postive or negative response for engaging in this promotion event. For those clubs interested in participating, also reply with:

1. the day that best fits a club's capabilities (preference is Saturday, December 12).
2. the ski area to be used.
3. the capacity of the club for that day (based on club coaches in coordination with ski area capacity).
4. web site or information document/email that provides details on club implementation of this event.

When the confirmation replies are received, the ski area will be contacted to confirm support. As with last year, the division of responsibility would be:

Ski Area: provide bunny hill lift ticket, skis, poles, boots, helmet.

Nancy Greene Club: provide coaches for one two-hour session - with either a morning or afternoon session offered to participants. Provide an email contact for registrations. Coordinate contacting registrants to provide information about session. After the event, a list of participants that should be refunded their registration fee (e.g. sick, cancellation due to weather, other issues).

Sask Alpine: Provide province-wide information and registration web site. Provide appropriate media advertising. Collect $10 registration fee to offset some of the media expenses. Forward registrations to each specified club contact. Refund participant registration fees as specified by clubs.=
