Following a successful Nancy Greene race and Snow Stars Festival this last weekend at Wapiti, and in anticipation of a rejuvenated program for next season, and with the timing of the upcoming Sask Alpine planning meetings and Annual General Meeting, now is the perfect time for an individual to step up and fill that vacant director position on Sask Alpine's executive.

The AGM will be in May. I want to have someone (or many individuals to be selected from) step into the Snow Stars/Nancy Greene position on the executive and be voted in at the AGM.

I should note that commitments for that position itself is relatively lightweight. There will be some time during the off-season to compile a strategy, budget, and help compile a calendar for next season. There will also be some pre-season communications to all the clubs to get them aligned for the season. Aside from a potential 'learn to ski' initiative (like implemented this last season), once the season starts there will be just oversight needed and communications to keep everyone in the loop. Sask Alpine will continue to focus on this 'grassroots' component of our programs, so the support will be there. Plus all executive members will be there to help provide historical perspective, council, and assistance.

I challenge each club in the province to lobby for someone to fill this very important and strategic role.
