IMPORTANT NOTE: With regard to race helmet rules, please refer to FIS ICR articles 707, 807, 907, 1007 detailed at http://www.fis-ski.com/data/document/icr-2011july_web.pdf and in the specifications for competition equipment at http://www.fis-ski.com/data/document/edition-2011-12.pdf. As specified in both documents, helmets should have specific conforming standards that are indicated with appropriate stickers on the helmet. If the helmet is examined and these standards stickers are missing, the helmet may be subject to possible rejection. It is further noted that racers and forerunners have the option of using helmets that have soft ear protection at slalom events ONLY. If a racer or forerunner participates in events other than slalom, a helmet with integrated hard ear protection will be required. Note that any helmets with solid visors or without a solid ear covering which is totally integrated with the helmet will not be accepted.
